ALAMEDA THEATER RESTORATION

Preserving a Historic Gem

In 2017, the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas Public Radio, and La Familia Cortez restaurants created a new 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Alameda Theater Conservancy (ATC), to restore and activate the historic Alameda Theater complex.

The Alameda brings people together from all parts of our community to share stories, embrace diversity, and create lasting connections. Since opening in 1949, it has stood as a place to honor the shared relationships between South Texas and Mexico, as well as to celebrate the unique contributions of each generation.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to be a vital presenter of Latino arts, culture, and education at the historic Alameda Theater Complex.

OUR VISION

The role of the Alameda Theater Conservancy is to unite and inspire people through entertainment, education, and the arts.
